The Centre for Online Research and Education (CORE) is a distributed unit of the University of the Highlands and Islands, that also has a physical base on the Stornoway campus of Lews Castle College UHI. The primary function of CORE is enhancing the teaching, research, and advocacy of online education. The CORE will provide a focus for all at the UHI who have an interest in online education and digital educational resources, as well as working jointly on related issues with network colleagues and external organisations. The CORE will have as its focus any issues, at all levels of education, relevant to improving digital educational resources and online delivery, including:

  • Research and teaching on the subject of online education
  • Research, teaching, and knowledge exchange relating to the enhancement of online learning.
  • Research and teaching relating to digital educational resources and the delivery of education online.
