The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act aims to increase openness and accountability in government and across the public sector by ensuring that people have the right to access information held by Scottish public authorities.

Every public authority is required to adopt and maintain a publication scheme. The publication scheme is a commitment to provide information to the public. A Guide to the publication scheme is available online or as a hard copy from our Stornoway reception and is also available in large print.
